Who doesn't love a picnic? Well, me.
Love the idea of a picnic. Everything perfectly fits in adorable containers and off you go for a meal in the grass. It's the aftermath that makes picnicking - notsomuch.
If it weren't so irresponsible - I probably would prescribe to the Betty Draper guide to picnicking and leave everything behind. (Reference Mad Men Season 2 Episode 7 - brilliant.)
If you have hung out around here long enough, you already know the Breaking News Team is more about the gear than the actual activity.
To picnic - I probably just need the perfect basket. Right?
VoilĂ ! How about a little red basket? Courtesy of Blyton and available at Dean & DeLuca.*
*Barefoot Contessa not included for preparations of perfect picnic fare. Damn.
Stay tuned. More at 11.

My hubby gave me this little number www.picnictime.com/products.php?pid=510 while we dating. I was enamored and pictured all sorts of romantic impromptu meals. We've been on one picnic in the 2 years since the gift. Apparently, he was giving it to me envisioning I could go on picnics with my girlfriends. Hmmph.
This is going to sound just awful, but we're not crazy for picnics either, one of those things that sounds so great in theory but seems so different in reality, regardless of locale/foodstuffs/supplies/.etc.
Have a wonderful week Miss News Readin'!

Hear, hear, to every bit of this post. I'm all about the style, but not the substance of this (and a lot of other things, but that's a separate post for me.)
OMG. This is how I feel about most sports. I enjoy the outfits, but not so much the practice, you know what I mean?
